Too blessed to be stressed

Greetings from a land where Summer is still on, wine is cheap and delicious, life seems to be simpler (or is it just because I'm on my holidays?).

Used to all inclusive option, we allow someone else to decide how we want to spend our time, what we want to eat. Life was a bit harder before all the lifestyle magazines and portals appeared- we had to make our own decisions, there was more space for imagination and individual style. We want to make our life easier and erase a lot of those small activities like peeling off potatoes, cleaning up the mess in bathroom, ironing clothes, planting and cultivating herbs and vegetables. But instead of simple work we added new things into our lifestyles: stress and worries.

I believe in simple things. And that being happy is also something simple. It's time spent with someone you love, it's a cup of delicious coffee, it's a shadow on sunny day, it's waiting for something impatiently, it's finding something cool on the internet, it's a good book read in a park, it's a postcard in your mailbox and photographs reminding you of good old days.

Mustard Expert

That might be one of the weirdest facts about me- I do love mustard and I'd love to be known as Mustard Expert. Like sommeliers distinguish subtle differences in wines that for me are simply red, white, rose, cheap, expensive, tasty or not, I want express my admiration for mustard in the same way. I think I'm on a good way- I already distinguish different kinds of mustard, have my favorite one and don't think that mustard is just mustard- good base for becoming an expert. So if you'll ever wonder which mustard to choose, you know who to ask ;)

Holidays! Freedom!

I had a little trip into the past and reminded how it was in childhood waiting for summer holidays :) I was counting down the hours and when I got out I wanted to sing out loud "Freedom! Freedom!". It felt like getting out of prison, breathing fresh air, seeing sun for the first time.
Now I can switch from routine mode (which makes sense every morning right after alarm clock) onto free time mode (which basically means do what you like!).
Time to catch some Autumn sun!

Life in shopping centre

(Wishful thinking:  Let it be last post about my present work on this blog)
We all agreed to be put in can without sunlight and air, to be stunned with too loud music, to be blinded with artificial lights and colors, to be tempted with specially prepared aromas. Some even find it great entertainment to spend Sundays with family in malls (sic!). Ok, maybe I see this from other perspective- of worker who spends 8 hours everyday there. Stuff in shop doesn't thrill you that much after seeing it again and again everyday. First idea was amazing- to put many shops in one big building. Add cafes and restaurants. Aha, let's not forget about cinema and parking space. But that idea lost it freshness right after second, third, fourth, etc. mall in each city. How much money we have to spend? The amount of them is limited. What with the amount of goods on shop shelves? What with the real value of the things?
There's something anarchistic in my soul that shouts loud when I start to think about it. Or maybe it's basic human dignity.

Suntastic

Sun. Air. Nothing more. No sales, no new collections, no latest trends, no news, no bestsellers. Just give me sun and air, it's fancy enough. It helps me feel I'm alive better than movie or concert, even better than great book or piece of art. Whatever human being would imagine and design, it's still nothing comparing to the nature.

Little gestures

Eyes, nose, lips, fingers. Hard to live without them, we use them everyday without noticing the fact that we actually have this parts of our bodies. But beyond the simple existence, there are ways of using eyes, lips and fingers in more subtle ways... It's a secret of those who love life. Their skin really feel the softness of textile, the temperature of water, rays of sun. Lips can give kisses and can take them back. Can smile and whistle or sing. And eyes can send warm feelings when they look  at you. What would be life without those unimportant/so important little gestures?

She & Him

I have difficulties with starting this post. I want to avoid banality and slosh...but the first things that come to my mind now are exactly like that. So I need to dig a little bit deeper in my brain, make my imagination and memory work a little bit harder to put in words the simplest fact in the Universe- that She & Him goes well together. That even despite different points of view, different reactions, fuss and fights, they still find way to themselves.

 Remains of the day:
-tomorrow 4th wedding this summer :)
  -it's not a Valentine's Day post!
-print on a bag seen in Berlin "In Love we trust"

Where dance comes from?

Comes straight from our souls. Where else this pure joy can come from?

Old Ladies vs The Rest of the World

Woodstock Festival in Poland, 08.2010

Oh, I'm far from being malicious. I like to keep my karma positive, yoga, zen, and all that stuff. But there's one subspecies of human being that raises my blood pressure to the dangerous level and release my anger with the speed of the light- Old Ladies.

Oh, you don't know what I'm talking about? I don't believe you don't know this type: short hair, most often gray, narrow lips closed with that grimace of displeasure, very nervous and unpleasant when see young and happy women, strict and over religious. More? With weak face muscles- smile is too much of an effort for them. Body muscles always tensed like prepared for the fight with the whole world.

I just remembered this: "Inside every cynical person there's a disappointed idealist" George Carlin.

Hello Autumn, welcome back!

Dearest Autumn,

it was so good to notice that you're back in town! I really really missed you! When you were planning to tell me that you're here? I saw first brown leaves and felt the chill in the air and I knew you must be here.
All I can think about now is how great it would be to spend time together: going on bike trips on sunny days, long walks in the park between colorful trees, watching movies (with popcorn!) when it's raining outside... I like peace & quiet that you bring, especially after Summer craziness and activity. You know that I much more prefer to spend time with you and Spring than Summer and Winter.
I went yesterday to a market and saw all your favorite stuff: apples, pears, grapes, aubergines, pumpkins, pepper... All that dishes that taste the best when you're here! And for dessert? Tart with plums or apples and coffee with pinch of cinnamon... Mmm... Just be here, ok?

                                                                                   Cinnamon hugs&kisses,

Day with customers

Wanna hear some incredible stories? Get hired as a seller- the more customers, the more absurd situations and stories you get. Examples? Keep reading...

Story no 1 "Pearls for a cat": I understand loving your pet. Even gifts for pet's birthday, keeping your dog's photo in your wallet- ok. But buying your cat fake pearls necklace? As the proud owner told me, she (the cat) loves to wear her (the owner's) jewellery and it's no way to stop her (the cat) to steal necklaces and hide them all around the house. As the woman whispered me:"Thank god I have such an understanding husband!" while he was paying for the gift :)

Story no 2 "Thieves": This is double story. First part is not personal: a lady came right after two young men on bikes stole her necklace straight from her neck. The second part: customer helped me to catch the thief. Woman who tried to steal key chain, was behaving very friendly and open, I'd never expect that she had bad intentions! But more interesting than this was the story that customer helping me in catching the thief told me: once she found mysterious suitcase with important documents and a lot of money (like in a criminal movie!) left alone. She gave it to the security guy and then some businessman came to get back his missing suitcase. Maybe it was a shock or maybe his rudeness- he took it without "Thank you" or "Kiss my nose" :(

Story no 3 "Lady from America": She wasn't from America, she just had some friends there. And in UK. And Sweden too. And she was the talkative one. I didn't mind it at all- day was boring so I really appreciated high quality conversation with a nice customer. So we had a chat about emigration, life abroad and perspectives here- one of favorite topics in my country. At the end we wished each other successful life.

What kind of customer are you? Can the seller tell anything about you while eating dinner with friends/ family after work?

Fashion blogger?

Now it's bothering me- am I actually a fashion blogger or not? Sometimes I mention fashion and trends in my posts and what I love to illustrate is fashion... But does it make this blog about fashion? On BlogLovin I added it into Lifestyle category. I'm not a fashionist and lucky for me my budget is too low to become a fashion victim. But it do give me a real thrill when new collections are on catwalks and then in shops. Looking at moodboards is like looking at masterpieces for me. Fashion magazines are like the most interesting books and fashion designers seems to be whole lot better than famous actors.

So maybe I am a tiny little bit of a fashion blogger?

Baby blog

Can it be better way of celebrating 1st of September than going on bloggers meeting? I have a feeling like I went there with empty hands and came back with armful of good advices, ideas, inspirations. Now I'm more aware of how big and enthusiastic bloggers' community is in my city.
The beginning was quite surprising-I was taken by a fashion blogger. In the first moment I felt underestimated but then I realized: "Wait a minute girl, aren't you posting plenty of fashion illustrations here?" ;) I guess it was the hat ( http://martkadoroszko.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-girl-hat.html )
In very pleasant atmosphere people were sharing their little virtual worlds, some of them quite big and famous already. I felt like my blog is rather a baby, having first steps in the blog society. Plenty of information about ways to promote, maintain, etc. Enthusiasm, commitment and passion were in the air! And that's the air I love to breathe :)

The winner takes it all, the looser...

...think about the future :) I participated in a blog competition and maybe I didn't win but I can't say that I lost! Hopes for the first prize are replaced with thoughts and ideas how to make my blog better. I have a feeling that I'm on a right way (my way!).

Almost two years passed since the first post. I turned from student into graduate. The amount of coffee that I drink raised dramatically. Now I owe sewing machine, my own bike, job- I'm an adult. Over 240 posts and much more than 240 thoughts shared here. I hope for at least 240 posts more here with you! :)
