Poor Winter

Winter has pretty bad life. We all want to use her only for the snow (preferably for Christmas and skiing) and then to get rid of her as soon as possible. What is about Spring that we're desiring it so badly? Well... Silly question! The sun, the warmth, flowers, spring collections, girls finally showing legs and guys showing more interest than from behind scarves. Just like the ground is waking up and encouraging flower buds to grow, Spring warmth takes our clothes off and unfolds our better (human) nature.

I don't know if scientists already published the results of proper research, but we must have some solar panels under our skins (or on it???). Or, even better, what if we are walking solar batteries?  We used our stock of sun rays during the winter and we just have to load our batteries again :)

Emotionally rich

Everyone is going through life with some emotional luggage, but I'd prefer to call in emotional wealth. My emotions are something that  I have, that I can collect, nurse, give away. The emotions can make me feel heavy or can give me energy- just like food. They're food indeed- but for soul. And just as calories has to be burn to release the energy for the body cells, emotions spoken out loud release energy for your brain, thoughts, ideas. I came to a simple conclusion: emotions should be release, not detain. If we deny to release our emotions, if we keep them somewhere deep inside us, in the darkest cell, then, paradoxically and ironically,  we become the prisoners of them.

Camera-sick

Artist's life is full of little pleasures, but one of the greatest is photographing. The ability of capturing beauty  just with one click, without endless brush, chisel or pencil moves, is very tempting, very promising and very rewarding. As much as I enjoy the pinch of nostalgia and decadence, I'm glad that evolution didn't stop on inventing the paper or print. It seems like they were just prelude to photo cameras!
Deep inside me the powerful longing for shooting (photos) is growing, fulfilling my thoughts, making my hands nervous  and my eyes looking around in search of perfect scenery or model. Time to grab a camera and go!

Naked

Wow, the drawing from above is pretty old, from one of my first studies sketchbooks. From the artistic point of view I feel quite 'naked' to publish it here with all its imperfections and the beginner's naivete.

As much as I enjoy dressing up, I have to admit that being naked is being human in the purest form. I started to read "The Book of Tea" by Kakuzo Okakura (as you could notice on my facebook fanpage) and I'm slowly falling into giving the cup of tea special admiration. I also want to share with you fragment of the book that moved me:

"People are not taught to be really virtuous, but to behave properly. We are wicked because we are frightfully self-conscious."

Working Girl

After a 'while' of being unemployed, I'm coming back (quite gladly) into routine of labour. When I'm working, I'm dreaming of more free days. But when I'm free for too long, I miss day filled with duties and the feeling of doing something productive. It's hard to satisfy a woman, isn't it? ;)

I have few more days to enjoy sleeping long, late breakfasts, no make-up, comfy clothes and all the other unprofessional behaviors. Few more days without thinking what to wear and what to eat the next day at work. Looking through fashion magazines (and while watching Sex & the City episodes), I'm trying to find perfect outfits for future myself cruising down the corridors with  V.I.P. (Very Important Papers), clicking passionately on keyboard of my staff computer or trying to find the most professional tone of my voice while doing business on the phone. Will I convince myself to wear high heels more than five times a year?

Desktop

I'm kind of a person that cannot imagine life without a desk. I could even consider it the most important piece of furniture in my future house (or, more realistic, in an apartment). My desktop is my kingdom, working space, sanctum of creativity, workshop, harbor for good and bad ideas.

One of my friends surprised me with his perception of a desk. For him desk is a relic from student times, associated with learning and exams, something completely unnecessary in the adult life. Hmm... My studying space was usually bed, with enough space to spread the notes all around me.

There's something calm and safe in the stability of a desk. There's something welcoming and hospitable in wide desktop on four legs. Or am I idealizing normal piece of furniture?

Comfort zone

Oh, I do like comfort! I do feel comfortable in my comfort zone and it took me quite a while to create and furnish it. Why should I give it up then and step outside onto unknown grass?

Thinking about comfort zone started with the picture found on the web (I posted it on my fb fanpage)  and was continued in real-not-virtual life. Look at kids- their comfort zone are their parents' arms, but on the other hand they are constantly exploring and extending it. Does anyone of you remember the times when you didn't know what sea is, how to write your own name or how to tie your shoelaces? We already master millions of skills and explored thousands of new territories! Why we stop with age?

My artistic comfort zone was 'threatened' with an offer to draw something in a certain style, different than mine. I decided to give it a try and test my skills on a new ground. It required more time, concentration and effort but when I saw the result, I felt that this unknown grass feels good! The picture above is my first step onto it and not the last one :)

Take me out

No matter if it's Friday night, Monday morning or Sunday evening- take me out! For a coffee, for a walk, for a talk, for shopping or dancing, for looking for first signs of Spring, for cleaning up the world, for a picnic, for a movie, for treasure-hunting, for reading books in a park, for getting lost, for escaping from city and routine...

Is it really that interesting what's happening on Facebook or Twitter? (except my new blog posts of course! ;)) We have people to meet, roads to discover, adventures to experience. I can do all that by myself but it's much more fun with the company! So what do you say: another evening spent in front of your computer or doing something different together?
