Noisy creatures

Picture from one Sunday: beach, sun, enormous heat, enormous crowd. People everywhere. Barbecues almost as many as blankets. From left side of my blanket rock, from the right pop. Freaking dolby surround! Hopes for calm relaxing afternoon disappeared with barbecue smoke.

Train. On the train I feel like I'm the noisiest passenger. I'm opening and chewing my sandwiches irrationally loud. I breath irrationally loud. My every move is irrationally loud. Do only I hear it or everyone else too?

Is there something like silence in human world? There are always some micro sounds that we're producing. I remember something about noise pollution. So sounds also can be pollution! Some songs are definitely crime against humanity ;P But sounds... can create music and can create noise.

Look at sea shells. They keep the music of the sea inside them, sharing this melody with those who come closer.

My way

Took me 25 years to finally decide that I'm gonna do it my way. By "it" I mean my own life with all it aspects. Work. Free time. Relations. Love, sweet love. For definitely too long I was looking at people around me, people who I found successful, thinking that they must have some superpowers for being who and where they are.
I was enlightened in the bus today: everyone is complete in the moment of birth. With this nose, thoughts, talents and ideas for life. All we need is inside us. Already! And sometimes it takes 25 years to find it out, sometimes it takes whole life.

DIY

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls! If you didn't notice it yet, we're living in the times of financial crisis! But don't worry, it's not going to be a depressive post about how hard it is to survive nowadays. There's an aspect of it that I find very positive- people started to create, do do things by themselves more. Do It Yourself movement has more and more fans all over the world. Massive amounts of blogs and web sites are showing you how to sew, cook, repair, renew by yourself, with your own two hands, with lower costs (or without them).
Financial prosperity and capitalism (well, well, and I say I hate politics! ;) ) made us lazy and attached to the shops- we knew we could buy everything. The value of things was rising on a price tags but not in reality. In reality new t-shirt was transforming into rag after 5 washes and "fresh" food couldn't stay fresh in the fridge for more than 2 days.
Everything is so easily available in the shops that we're not wondering if it's easy to make or get by ourselves, often for free. Well, maybe the price would be a bit more effort than spending all day in a shopping mall.

And what would you say for changing the name from DIY for DYH (Dirt Your Hands)? ;)

Out of the shadow

Very crazy idea came to my mind just a second ago! What will happen if all the people came out of the shadow? Of their own shadows, complexes, remorse, erroneous beliefs?
We all got used to the fact that some of us are much louder than the others, that some just have luck and it always rain on the rest. Think about your friends. You'll spot those who stays in the shadow immediately. I'm not going to ask and wonder why it is so, it's too late for studying psychology. Everyone has bad moments and like to hide in the shadow for a while. It's a safe zone. But also sad and a bit boring.

People, let's go out of our shadows! Let's catch some sun and some life while we're still here, while we still have the chance to get sun tan ;)

Wind of change

There's something in the air! Could it be already autumn after summer that wasn't really a summer? There's some anxiety and relief at the same time, there's universe giving me signals "Go, move on, it's time!". Like Vianne Rocher from "Chocolat" was feeling the Northern Wind that was the sign of changing places, I'm feeling something similiar in the air, some changes are coming and all I need to do is to open my arms and embrace them.

Why moustache make everything better?

 Moustache on Berlin Wall
This is me. Hello! ;)
I prefer slow life and that makes me to slow to follow fashion but some trends catch my attention and I simply can't resist. Like Moustache. Where did people get idea from to make moustache so fancy? Fancy enough to change my first association with them (uncle scratching my cheeks when I was a kid) into sweet infatuation! ;)
Just describing them brings a lot of joy because of using cool words like: rakish, playful, saucy, cheeky! Ah, pure pleasure! :))
As an amateur journalist, I asked Wikipedia about Moustache. And now I know that:
*there are World Beard and Moustache Championshiops! What's more, in 2007 they divided all
moustache in 6 categories: Natural, Hungarian, Dali, English moustache, Imperial and Freestyle
*those from above are not the only types of them!
*famous persons with moustache: Frida Kahlo, Charlie Chaplin, Mario

Ahh, I'm starting to regret that I can't grow moustache! ;}

Change your paths

So far only good things happened to me when I decided to change my paths and do something differently or go to a new place, f.ex.I:

- discovered a place when I can get delicious coffee for almost free and definitely for cheap
- saw interesting street art hidden between blocks of flats
- had a chat with nice strangers in the street or bus
- suddenly felt that life is good just as it is
- met great people
- found new places "to show them to my friends when they'll visit me here"
- ate something delicious
- proved to myself that I can do it

Well known paths give me the comfort and sometimes that is all I need to be pleased. But world offers so many ways and opportunities that it would be the waste of the time given to me on this planet not to try new ones- at least from time to time.

There's a magnet on my fridge that says "Do one thing everyday that scares you". It's Eleanore Roosevelt quote. When I'm trying to use it in practice, the effect is astonishing- the reality is much more exciting and less scary/dramatic than my imaginings!

For free

Yesterday I watched whole "Amelie" on you tube and that was the perfect movie for then. The one that really suits your mood, helps you to understand yourself and gives you hope for better tomorrow ;) (Ok, maybe I exaggerated with the last one, but I hope you know what I mean)

You know, I'm not really an expert when it comes to use all the possibilities that internet offers in having things for free, but it's quite a treasure house anyway. Movies, music, blogs, pictures... Visiting art galleries and museums. Finding free accommodation abroad! Native speakers + language courses. Tips, advices, proposals, lists, ideas... Vanity fair, variety fair.

The Girl + The Hat

It was love at first sight- I just saw it on a black head of mannequin and my head put it on herself in my imagination. Legs didn't care for what I wanted to say, they just pushed me into that shop. There was no other way back than with the hat on my head ;)
As you could read it before, I have something with hats. My master thesis was about them. When my grandfather was still with us, I was peeping at his caps, how naturally he was wearing them. I always feel a bit rigid with a hat or cap. But that's something beautiful about old people- naturalness of living, of everyday actions, while I'm still learning how to make chicken soup or wear hats.

No!

I stopped and I'm staring at the word "No". So simple, so complicated! Innocent and guilty. Wrong and right. No, no, no! "No woman, no cry" No worries, no problem, no sense. No way!

Have you seen "Yes Man" with Jim Carrey? Very interesting and inspiring story. But it put "no" into negative position. Well, no is strictly and literally negative :D But as true idealist I'm trying to find out some positive sense in it.

So what can be positive about negative?

Dream a little dream

Today I have proposal for you- wanna dream a little dream with me? Yes? Then close your eyes, let your senses follow your imagination and see this...

...you are in a city, not too big, not too small, just the exact size to accommodate all the inspirations wandering the streets, with the exact amount of dark corners and small streets where you can get lost and get found very easily. There's sun and there's shadow, it's not too hot. It's like in one of those beautiful old European cities like Paris or Prague. While wandering the old streets you see a small shop, boutique. Big window in solid wooden frames, wooden door with the name of boutique and opening hours written on them with gold letters. You enter it and step onto wooden floor. Now you're surrounded with dresses, colors, the smell that reminds you something, maybe some perfumes. Interior is filled with sun and fashion illustrations.
Someone is buying one of the dresses. The seller is wrapping the dress into paper and then putting it in an elegant paper bag with dragonfly emblem on it. She wears a dress and you have a feeling that she wears them everyday.

Nostalgia (after adventure part II)

There's a dark side of traveling and it's called nostalgia. Leaving from so many places always gives me the same questions: will I ever come back here? What if I'd stay here forever? Is there any place where I could stay forever?

Just as dish washing is the tough part of cooking, come backs are the tough part of traveling.

City details (after adventure part I)

I love visiting new cities! It gives me a lot of new energy, different than you get from hiking, sailing, etc. Smelling the new (polluted ;)) air in some strange way refreshes my brain. New streets, full of unknown city details open new spaces somewhere in the unused corners of my head. Blood is circulating faster, senses want to receive more stimuli. Ah, that's life!
This time my attention caught the smallest details- city details. Bridges, fences, metro stations and sits. Countries that are divided by borders that no longer exist still can differ so much, even if the disease of our world is globalization.

Off we go!

The second layer of nail polish is drying, bags are packed, flower is waiting to be pined in my hair. Time for adventure! Time to leave everyday routine behind, time to get into the car like into the time machine, time to forget what time this is, what time to get up, what time to go to bed!  Clothes that I selected for adventure differ from the ones that I wear everyday. I want everything to differ! I crave for novelty! :)
